Description: 1968 Detroit Tigers World series trophy presented to Gates Brown. Original figural World Championship trophy presented to Brown for his efforts as the noted team's clutch pinch hitter. The trophy stands 12" tall with brass band encircling the base which is inscribed, "World Champions Detroit Tigers, 1968." Set atop are a pair of enameled World Series press pins, flags representing each Major League team, and small figural baseball in band with crown. The original "Balfour" logo label remains on underside. One of a select few original player presented trophies from this beloved team to have entered the marketplace.
