Description: Fine 1960 Roberto Clemente "Best Latin American Major League Baseball Player" award (World Championship season). Very attractive figural carved mahogany wooden award presented to Clemente as the outstanding Latin American player in Major League Baseball for the 1960 season. Two tiered plinth style award with a gilt decorated figural brass batter positioned in front of a circular wooden back splash with thumbnail carved decor and five applied brass stars. Brass placard on base is inscribed (in Spanish), "To Roberto Clemente The Best Latin American Baseball Player Major League Season 1960". One of the more substantive figural awards dating to the Pittsburgh Pirates World Championship season of 1960 from the Clemente collection.
