Description: Significant Roberto Clemente 1967-68 Puerto Rican Baseball All-Star Team trophy. Fine quality mahogany plinth style trophy as presented to Clemente for his selection to the Puerto Rican All-Star team as a member of the San Juan Club for 1967-68. Applied brass placard at the base inscribed, "Presented by the Rawlings Sporting Goods Company for his Selection as a member of the Sporting News Puerto Rican Baseball Professional League All-Star Team". Central pedestal also has inscribed brass placard, "Roberto Clemente Right Field All-Star 1967-68". Two brass figural eagles flank a central baseball pedestal with figural batsman on top. 19" tall with some appropriate light to moderate surface wear. Clemente had played with the San Juan team for the 1967-68 season compiling a batting average of .382. Very fine presentational trophy of notable rarity with relation to the greatest Latin American player in the history of the game.
