Description: 1972 Roberto Clemente Amateur Baseball Championship figural trophy. Large 25" tall figural trophy as presented to Clemente on November 5, 1972 in recognition of his support and leadership for the youth of Puerto Rico. Applied brass placard affixed to the base inscribed to Clemente along with salutation, "For the example and strong support for the youth of Puerto Rico" and "Nicaragua Nov. 5, 1972". General condition is very fine with some surface wear and patination to the brass figural components. Included with the trophy is a period news article picturing Roberto Clemente Jr. holding the offered trophy as the final one presented to Roberto Clemente in December of 1972.
