Description: August 23, 1944 Jackie Robinson Court-Martial Aquittal document. Historic and important original typewritten summation of events related to a racially charged incident which took place while Robinson was serving in the armed forces. Despite riding on an unsegregated U.S. Army commissioned bus, he was repeatedly asked by the driver to move from his seat for white passengers whom were standing. Events following the ride landed Robinson in the custody of Military Police and he would ultimately be court martialed. Acquitted and later honorably discharged, the incident no doubt had a lasting impression and impact on his decision to join Branch Rickey in the integration of Major League Baseball.
