Description: Late 1950s Nelson Fox attributed Chicago White Sox professional model hat with related autographed photo. Black hat has the classic "Sox" team logo embroidered in red outlined white stitch. "Tim McAuliffe" tag remains on the interior leather band which is stamped with the "KM Pro Cap" logo and size, "7." An included 5"x7" color photo (date stamped 1961 on back) has been signed "Best Wishes, Nelson Fox" in ink rating 8 out of 10. Fox is shown with two men, one of whom is the gentleman to whom he gave the hat and in whose possession it remained for many years. The individual had a life long interest in baseball and even played years earlier as supported by a trio of letters sent to him in 1948 in response to requests for Major League tryouts (from Reds and Giants). The hat displays usage and some general age related wear and remains one of only a few of this rare and desirable style to have surfaced.
