Description: Scarce 1952 Jack Marshall Negro League East-West All-Star Game "Grand Old Timer" award. Presentational wooden plaque (approx. 7.5"x10") having affixed cast metal figural batter and engraved metal placard reading "Honoring A Grand Old Timer Of Baseball Jack Marshall+20th Annual East-West Game, Comiskey PK, Aug 17-1952." Marshall had then been involved in Negro League baseball for nearly (35) years playing for a number of different teams including the Chicago Union Giants and Chicago American Giants. The All-Star Game itself had a long and storied history with much of it rooted in Chicago dating back to the first Annual event held in Comiskey Park in 1933.
