Description: Exceedingly rare 1888 Boston Beaneaters Cabinet photograph by Joseph Hall. Highly desirable original cabinet mounted photograph showing members of the Boston club incl. Old Hoss Radbourn, King Kelly, John Clarkson, and John Morrell. All are identified on the mount which is also marked, "Jos. Hall Photo., Brooklyn, N.Y." Photographic portion displays some light toning and a hint of wear (this being mentioned for accuracy and primarily of note along the right side). The mount has had professional restoration to attach the lower left corner with a jagged line visible from the front and conservators tape on back. A portion of the right edge has material added (of slightly different color) with similar tape backing. There is some mild additional wear and discoloration. The Joseph Hall series of Cabinets remain among the most revered of all early baseball collectibles and are very seldom offered. This example has long been tucked away in an East Coast collection.
