Mounted at top is a "Louisville Slugger" logo and below, an engraved metal placard reading in part, "Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Silver Slugger Award, Presented to Tony Gwynn - OF San Diego, Member of the Sporting News National League Offensive Team, 1995..." An important honor as bestowed annually by Major League Coaches and Managers and one of (7) earned by Gwynn whom is considered one of the best and most consistent hitters in baseball history.
