August 24, 2006 dated "NFL Player Contract" with related addendum that stipulates, "Player's signing is ceremonial in nature and, contemporaneous with the execution of this contract, Player is submitting a retirement letter." Having spent the bulk of his playing days in San Francisco Rice felt it most appropriate to announce his retirement from the sport he changed forever as a member of the team. Two page contract is a carbon copy with the second page having carbon/facimile Rice signature. Addendum page is a digital version, likewise bearing a printed autograph.
