Description: "Play Ball!" slot machine by Mills Novelty c.1920s. Substantive wooden cased slot machine with sections done in heavy cast iron that is accented by hand painted areas, printed paper inserts, and a large lithographed scene on metal applied at front. The machine remains in working order and has aged well with moderate wear and ageing to all pieces and components throughout. The lock has been removed from upper front and this panel can now be removed to reveal that some of the front glass is held in place with some more modern tape (not visible when looking through front openings). The lock hole is covered over with cardboard. Lock on the back cover appears to be a replacement and no key has been furnished. Considered to be the premier 1920s baseball themed piece within the genre the offered is a rare unrestored example and it has been many years since we have offered another: Overall EXEstimated Price Range: ($5,000-$10,000)
