Description: Willie Mays autographed professional model baseball bat c.1969-70. Louisville Slugger 125 model baseball bat with "Mays" block lettered into the barrel measures 35" long and weighs 32.2oz. Model number "H117" has been stamped in the knob which has a vintage "24" player identifier written on in marker. Evident usage wear includes a few contact marks, some light pine tar on handle, and scattered rack marks. Louisville Slugger factory records indicate shipments of this model to Mays in 1969 and 70 and a vintage "Willie Mays" black marker signature (7-7/8 out of 10) places it in his hands in the period. In the twilight of his career with the Giants by the late 1960s Mays was firmly established amongst baseball's immortals. At the time of his retirement following the 1973 season he would tally a pair of MVP Awards, (12) Gold Gloves, and a remarkable (24) All-Star Game appearances.
