Description: Rare Richie Ashburn professional model baseball glove c.1961-62 (Paul Hill Collection Provenance). Rawlings professional model TG15 baseball glove retaining its original Rawlings label on the back strap with interior stampings intact. The glove shows exceptional use throughout while remaining in original condition. The offered glove was obtained directly from Richie Ashburn by legendary hobbyist Paul Hill back in 1963. Ashburn had recently retired from baseball and was throwing batting practice for his former team , the Philadelphia Phillies, at which point Paul Hill was given the glove directly by Ashburn. This particular model glove was clearly used by Ashburn towards the end of his career and is corroborated by several vintage photographs picturing Ashburn wearing an identical (if not the actual glove itself) example. Particularly rare and desirable game glove from one of the more popular Phillies Hall of Fame players in team history.
