Description: Incredibly rare 1913 World Series Game (2) full ticket (New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Athletics). Original full ticket issued for game played at Shibe Park in which Hall of Fame pitchers Christy Mathewson and Eddie Plank gave baseball one its great post-season epics. Long standing rivals dating to their days in college (Matty was pitching for Bucknell and Plank for Gettysburg) by 1913 each had come full circle with careers established that place them among an elite group of the greatest pitchers in history. Scoreless through eight and a half innings the Athletics managed to land a pair of men on base in the bottom of the 9th but were unable to convert the opportunity. The Giants managed a similar feat in the top of the tenth with a single and sacrafice bunt advancing a man to second base before Mathewson himself stepped to bat. With a single that landed between the left and center fielders Matty drove in the go ahead run and sparked a rally which lead to (2) more being scored. Taking the mound again he retired the next (3) Philadelphia batters to claim the win. Ticket displays bold text and vibrant coloration throughout with a touch of very minor corner and edge wear and has one small crease at lower left corner. In the interest of accuracy we note some minor discoloration (in the form of faint spotting) however it is not clear if this is the result of age or is inherent to the paper stock. An incredible survivor and likely the only opportunity to aquire such a piece which will present itself for many years. Slabbed "Authentic" by PSA: EX-EX/MT
