Description: 1955 Ty Cobb handwritten letter "+I never faked an autograph+" Handwritten letter on "Tyrus R. Cobb" personal stationary (4"x6") to an autograph seeker with interesting content reads in part, "+I never faked an autograph only thing I ever faked was a bunt to draw 3rd baseman in, then hit through him on next ball..." Done in trademark green ink and signed at the close, "T.R.C." rating 8-8/9 out of 10. Includes the original mailing envelope which is filled out by Cobb and bears his pre-printed address on the back (postally cancelled April of 1955). Written in response to a request that he not send back any fake signatures, the letter shows an unusually candid side of the man whom so many feared during his playing days.
