Description: 1930 Lefty O'Doul signed Philadelphia Phillies player's contract. National League of Professional Baseball Clubs contract has been signed on the interior by Lefty O'Doul, team President William Baker, and owner Gerald Nugent. In addition, League President John Heydler has signed in appropriate area on the back which also bears a short handwritten note signed by Baker which transfers assignment to Brooklyn. All are done in period fountain pen rating 8 to 8/9 out of 10. Typical fold lines with mild toning and some other minor general wear. There is a small area of discoloration on back page which is semi-visible from the inside and a small tear is present within this section. A serious contention for future Hall of Fame Induction, O'Doul is noted as one of most successful Managers in Minor League history and played a vital role in introducing baseball to Japan. His (11) seasons as a player were spread among several teams but the two he spent in Philadelphia were far and away his best.
