Description: Fine Babe Ruth original painting by Lance Richbourg c.1986. Original abstract watercolor on artist paper depicting Ruth in Red Sox uniform from the 1915-18 period. Beautiful use of color and light abounds in this fine rendering by noted baseball artist Lance Richbourg whose passion for the game was born from watching his father (of the same name) play in the Major Leagues from 1919-1938. Richbourg's works are especially known for their use of light in capturing the various nuances of the game within the subject matter. The Ruth painting measures 22"x30" in a museum quality wooden shadowbox frame and is signed at bottom right by Richbourg. Original Kolin Gallery, Los Angeles paper label affixed to verso.
