Description: Greenville Pirates player attributed Minor League jersey with related glove, cleats and (2) hats c.1948. Cream colored flannel done is similar style to that worn by their Major League parent club has "Pirates" lettered across the front and is trimmed in red/blue piping. "Wilson" manufacturer's tag in the collar has adjacent size "42" flag tag. Strong usage wear throughout with scattered soiling and it appears that a number "16" was removed from the back. Includes pair of hats are differing styles but both related to period Pirates Minor League teams with only by Wilson, the other by Rawlings (very heavy wear and soiling); Spalding brand cleats and unmarked woolen stirrup socks; and Hutch brand left handed trapper model fielder's glove. All pieces originate from the family of player Danny Mays and included is a printed image of Mays dated 1948 and showing him in similar style jersey and hat.
