Description: Pair of early Kid Nichols scrapbooks c.1887-1903. Two early books which appear to have been assembled in the period by Nichols himself with numerous notations in his hand scattered throughout (small, generally dates). Mostly boxscores and game accounts which appear to start in 1887 while he was with Kansas City and conclude around 1903 with Memphis. One is missing its covers. Wear scattered throughout as would expected with pieces of this vintage and there are likely some missing pieces/pages. Incredible first hand and personal documentation related to the earliest days in professional baseball of a man who went on to be regarded as one the finest pitchers of his time.
