Description: Luke Sewell professional model baseball bat c.1920s - a gift to Joe. Louisville Slugger 125 model baseball bat has "Luke Sewell" facsimile signature burned into the barrel end. Hand turned bat displays a fine even patina with light/moderate evident usage wear and well defined factory stampings. Signed on the barrel, "Joe Sewell, Gift from Luke to me in the 1920s." Signature rates 9 out of 10. Luke Sewell spent (20) years playing baseball at the Major League level and is regarded as one of the best defensive catchers of his era. He was behind the plate for (3) no-hitters and made an All-Star Game appearance in 1937. Much like his brother Joe, Luke's keen eye left few opposing pitchers able to pitch around him, striking out only (307) times in (5,383) at bats.
