Description: Rare McLoughlin Bros. "Game of Baseball" c.1886. Early baseball themed game by the noted maker having beautifully illustrated game action scene on lid. Box (9.5"x17.25") is constructed of wood at sides with heavy stock pressed paper board serving as top and bottom. Exterior displays chipping and wear throughout corners and edges with upper surface primarily affected by light discoloration (a few very small nicks/dents). Housed inside are a game board, pair of scoring sheets (well used), instruction booklet (covers separated), (1) spinner, and all (10) of the small handpainted cast metal players (note - one player figure broken from base at ankles).
