Description: Choice Willie Stargell professional model baseball bat c.1973-1974. Louisville Slugger 125 model baseball bat with Stargell facsimile signature burned into the barrel end measures 35" long and weighs 35oz. Model number "K44" is marked in the knob end and a heavy coat of pine tar is present on handle. Heavy use visible throughout with ball, stitch, rack, and cleat marks. "Pops" was at the height of his prowess in the mid-1970s coming off a Pirates World Series win in 1971 and en route to another in 1979. In 1973 he became the first player in over (30) years to reach the 40-40 mark and played in his 6th All-Star Game. Outstanding Stargell exemplar is by far one of the better we have handled in some time and has been graded "GU 8" by PSA. Includes LOAs from Hunt Auctions and PSA/DNA: EX
