Description: Rare Bill Mazeroski professional model fielder's glove c. late 1960s. MacGregor model KS2 red leather glove as worn by Mazeroski exhibiting tremendous use as characteristic of the scant few gloves used by him during his playing career. Vintage "9" written on back of glove in black marker along with "MAZ" on back of pinky finger. Retains original MacGregor black manufacturer's label on exterior of backstrap. Interior section of the glove pocket has an area where leather surface is separating and glove in general shows heavy use while remaining in superb original unrestored condition. As corroborated by Bill Mazeroski himself it was widely know that he used only a handful of gloves during his Major League career with the offered example being one of only five total that are confirmed to have originated from Bill's personal collection. Includes a period newspaper photograph picturing Mazeroski wearing an identical model glove which appears to be the offered example. Outstanding rarity with unimprovable primary source provenance from one of the premier defensive players in the history of the game.
