Description: 1926 Detroit Tigers team signed folk art decorated baseball. Reach B.Johnson Official American League baseball, decorated in the period with charming Tiger likeness painted on a side panel. Small pair of crossed bats painted on adjacent panel and the ball has been hand lettered "Detroit 1926." In total, approximately (20) have signed including Cobb, Heilmann, Manush, B.Evans (executive), O'Rourke, Wingo, Woodall, and McBride. Signatures range from 3 to 7 out of 10 with majority grading 5 or better. A few are non-roster players/personnel (possibly having played in Spring Training, not the regular season). Below the crossed bats design is an inscription dating the ball to the Tigers Spring Training at Atlanta, Georgia that appears possibly, to be written by Ty Cobb. Ball displays moderate even toning and some scattered wear/small areas of surface loss. Period coat of shellac applied. Uncommonly early team ball and one of the few dating to Cobb's playing days which we have handled. Includes auction LOA from JSA: Ball: VG-VG/EX, Signatures: Range GD-EX/MT
