Description: 1964 Warren Spahn St. Louis Cardinals professional model road uniform. Grey flannel jersey and pants as worn by Spahn who served as a special pitching instructor for the St. Louis Cardinals during several seasons in the 1960-1970s era. Jersey retains its original embroidered Cardinals logo across the front with original 43 on both front and back. Rawlings tag with size 44 affixed to tail front with dry clean tag and "Set 1 1964" flag tag on interior tail front. Shirt shows evident use including soiling and age toning. Few small holes towards the bottom of the back and vestiges of player names removal at top of back are visible. Matching pants retains proper interior tagging inclusive of strip tag denoting issue to H. Pollett. Pants show heavy use including soiling. Spahn was primarily with the team during spring training and given that Curt Flood wore Spahn's trademark #21 during that tenure he was issued several different numbers for the applicable seasons inclusive of uniforms from previous seasons. Includes several vintage photographs picturing Spahn in Cardinals uniform one of which matching the offered example. The lot also includes a pair of Cardinals stirrup socks.
