Description: September 17, 1963 "Spahnie Day" original scrapbook and related ephemera. Oversized 20"x25" bound scrapbook as presented to Warren Spahn in honor of the huge celebration of his career with the Braves. Over 37,000 fans turned out to Milwaukee County Stadium to honor the legendary Braves pitcher with ceremonies including on field appearances and fireworks. The offered scrapbook was assembled that evening and subsequently presented to Spahn with contents including original photographs, copies of hand written remarks by guest speakers, correspondence, Original "Spahnie Day" letter head, itineraries, and countless original news articles commemorating the day. Front cover exhibits some expected wear with three original "Spahnie Day" souvenir buttons affixed which were sold to benefit the Warren Spahn Education Scholarship.
