Description: Rare Warren Spahn autographed address book c.1940-1944. Diminutive 4 1/2" tall black leather address book as kept by Spahn during the very formative years of his baseball career in addition to military service c.1940-1944. Interior front two title pages are fully hand inscribed by Spahn. Includes notations regarding his service in the US Army along with two of the earliest known Spahn autographs, one of which in rare full name format with date of "6/21/1940". The address portion of the book remains unused with the back two title pages containing further handwritten notes by Spahn including his early Minor League and Major League experience. It is believed that the offered book was carried by Spahn during his honorable service in World War II including action at the Battle of the Bulge.
