Description: 1961 Warren Spahn "Sid Mercer Memorial Award" plaque. Prestigious award as presented to Spahn for the Player of the Year in 1961 by the New York Chapter of the BBWAA. Black painted oval wooden plaque displays an applied sterling silver placard with crossed bat and ball decor inscribed to Spahn. 13 1/2" tall marked "Sterling" with Dieges & Clust hallmarks on front and label on the reverse.
