Description: Important 1908 Reach All-American Tour real photo postcard with signed note from player Bill Burns. Historic image as taken during the 1908-1909 tour of American baseball players to Japan organized and sponsored by sporting goods magnate A.J. Reach. The trip served as the first bonafide organized visit of professional American players and featured many of the top stars of the day. The team is shown in their "Reach All Americans" uniforms alongside a contingent of well dressed dignitaries. Back bears a 1908 dated postmark (from Japan) and handwritten/signed note from player Bill Burns, "We have won all games from Japan. 14. We leave today for China." Very minor scattered wear with touch of corner wear visible on front (slightly more pronounced at lower right), (2) minute rust colored spots, and less than expected handling wear. All material of direct relation to this seminal early event is particularly rare and we can not imagine a more important postcard with particular note to the first hand player provenance: EXEstimated Price Range: ($1,000-$1,500)
