Description: 1933 Philadelphia Athletics autographed ball attributed to record ending August 3rd game vs. the Yankees. Red and blue stitched Reach W.Harridge Official American League baseball has been signed by approximately (11) including Grove, Foxx, Cochrane, Bishop, Rommell, Johnson, Earnshaw, Blackburn, Oliver (coach), and Walberg. Signatures rate 7 to 8 out of 10 and an additional signature or two have largely faded from view. Cramer has been enhanced. Grove appears across the sweetspot and has inscribed "1st shutout in 308 games" below and the game score ("New York 0 Athletics 7") on a side panel. Grove went a full (9) innings in the August 3, 1933 game which was played at Yankee Stadium ending the Yankees record string of consecutive games played without being shutout. A number of game balls offered directly by the Grove Estate at auction some years back were signed/inscribed in similar fashion. Ball displays soiling throughout with evident usage wear.
