Description: Rare "Spalding's Baseballs" display box c.1909. Large lidded box was likely intended for use as a salesman's sample or counter-top store display. Measures 13" square with exterior having subtle repeating "Spalding" branded design. Interior box lid advertises "Spalding's Baseballs Complete 1909 Line" with (14) different variations depicted. Light to moderate scattered wear with touch of surface loss at exterior seams, some subtle exterior discoloration and interior age toning, and imperfections to interior graphic at (2) areas. Tape hinged seam remains 90% intact. Choice period display piece and the only example which we have seen: Overall EX with graphic displaying at far greater levelEstimated Price Range: ($1,000-$2,000)
