Description: Fan Taz baseball themed advertising sign c.1900-1910s. Original tin sign having emerald blue background with impressed white titling reading, "Drink Fan Taz, Drink Of The Fans, A Pennant Winner." Accented throughout with baseball motif. Measures just under 7"x20" with moderate scattered wear inclusive of some surface loss which is generally confined to edges and tack/mounting holes. Light soiling/discoloration to front; rust on back. Metal has taken on a touch of waviness and there are a few light "creases" and corner wrinkles. It appears that a small horizontal area at extreme lower edge may have been filled in with blue color at some point. Fan Taz is very well known within sports memorabilia circles as having produced a baseball themed syrup dispenser - using similar logo design- dating from roughly the same era as this piece which is regarded as one of the finest early figural displays ever created. While a number of the dispensers have surfaced and been sold over the years this sign remains exceedingly rare being the only example we have ever handled and one of only two that we can confirm to exist: VG-VG/EXEstimated Price Range: ($3,000-$5,000)
