Lot Number: 103

Description: Extremely rare Eddie Plank autograph. Paper slip as removed from a 1922 World Series program bears (5) pencil signatures including Wally Schang, Frank Baker, Sam Jones, Bob Shawkey, and notably rare Hall of Famer Eddie Plank. Plank pieced together one of the greatest pitching careers of the early 20th Century primarily as a member of Connie Mack's fabled Philadelphia Athletics. He was a member of two World Championship teams winning (20) or more games in (8) different seasons and became the first left handed pitcher to win (200) and then (300) games. Inclusive of this example, we have handled (5) or less in over 20 years with one originating from the very same program as this (sold in February 2002 for $10,000). Pencil signatures rate 7 to 8 out of 10 with Plank's last name being over dark portion. Paper is lightly toned with little wear. Includes auction LOA from JSA and full LOA from PSA/DNA: EX/MT

Estimated Price Range: ($3,000-$5,000)
