Description: Floyd Caves "Babe" Herman professional model baseball bat with Hillerich & Bradsby factory side writing c.1936. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 33.4 oz. Bat displays very heavy use including ball marks, rack marks, stitching impressions, repaired handle crack, and period handle tape residue. Desirable factory side writing is found on the underside of the barrel area noting, "F.C. Babe Herman 6.10.36" in black grease pencil remaining clearly legible. Highly desirable side written specimen from one of the finest batsman of the era which to date still holds several Dodgers batting records.
