Description: Rogers Hornsby professional model baseball bat c.1920-1930s. "Burke Batrite" model bat by Hanna Mfg. Co. of Athens, Georgia having "HORNSBY" block letter player designation on the barrel end. Bat measures a hair under 35" long and weighs 37.2 oz. Very finely grained specimen exhibits strong use including ball marks, cleat marks, and a repaired handle crack (finish nails). Small chip to the knob area. Considered some of the finest manufactured professional model bats of the era with the offered example displaying beautifully with bold stampings.
