Description: Fine Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autographed baseball c.1927. Harwood "National Leagueö baseball remaining in desirable original condition having been signed by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in black fountain pen. Ruth signatures presides boldy over the sweetspot rating 9 out of 10 with Gehrig occupying a side panel and grading 8 out of 10. The ball itself presents in lightly used to unused condition with some areas of minor surface soiling listing as the only mentionable condition flaws. The ball was originally autographed in 1927 for Ray Thompson who played for the Milwaukee Brewers Minor League team. Subsequent to the Yankees historic World Championship season of 1927 Ruth and Gehrig played a series of barnstorming games one of which took place at MilwaukeeOs Borchert Field. Ray Thompson played on one of the barnstorming teams to oppose Ruth and Gehrig that day at Borchert Field and collected the offered baseball at that time. Truly outstanding condition specimen with very fine original provenance.
