Description: Scarce Rawlings Negro American League Official baseball c.1940s. Red stitched baseball retaining "Rawlings" logo and "Official Negro American League J.B. Martin Pres." stampings. Evident usage wear throughout inclusive of moderate soiling and several contact marks. Stampings remain well defined. During a career in baseball which stretched from 1929 to 1959 Martin served as President of (3) different Negro Leagues and was co-owner of the Memphis Red Sox and Chicago American Giants.
