Lot Number: 1b

Description: "Pine Tar Game" framed display with ticket stub and autographs of Brett, Gossage, and McClelland. Tastefully matted and framed display includes 16”x20” black and white photograph of George Brett erupting shortly after his July 24, 1983 go ahead (2) run homerun at Yankee Stadium was nullified. An inspection of Brett’s bat had revealed more pine tar than League rules would permit after being questioned by Yankee Manager Billy Martin. The incident has attained legendary status. Mounted below the photo are autographs of George Brett (blue marker rating 9/10 out of 10), Umpire Tim McClelland (black ink rating 8 out of 10), and an original ticket stub which has been signed by pitcher Goose Gossage (blue marker rating 9/10 out of 10). Includes auction LOA from JSA.
