Description: President Richard Nixon letter in framed display, signature is secretarial signed. Dated May 15, 1972, typewritten letter on White House stationery as sent to Ted Williams with significant content thanking Williams for his support of Nixon's policy in Vietnam. The appreciation was extended in reference to remarks made by Williams to a reporter indicating support for Nixon's policies and the President himself. The framed display includes a copy of the House Congressional Record for May 10, 1972 which includes Williams' comments. In the letter, Nixon writes, in part, "Coming as it does from one whose own military record is a source of inspiration both in and out of the sports world, your understanding of why these steps had to be taken means a great deal to me."
