Description: Ted Williams presentational Key to Washington D.C. c.1969. Original presentational brass key as given to Ted Williams in honor of his position of Manager of the Washington Senators. Key measures 7 1/2" in length displaying renderings of the US Capitol building and the White House on either side with red, white, and blue ribbons intact. Includes its original hinge lid leather casing with impressed gilt lettering, "Theodore S. Williams Manager Washington Senators" on the exterior lid and "Key to Washington D.C." on the interior lid. Williams captured Manager of the Year honors in Washington after turning around a perennial losing franchise to winning record during his tenure.
