Description: Significant 1952 Bob Feller handwritten letter to Ted Williams with content regarding the Korean War. Two page foldout letter penned in blue ink on "The Tides Hotel" stationery from St. Petersburg, Florida dated 1/29/52. The letter was written by Bob Feller to his friend and respected foe, Ted Williams, with incredibly poignant content regarding his feelings for Ted being drafted back into military service. The letter reads, "Dear Ted: Just a note to say we will all be missing you this coming season unless it can be worked out so your call to duty can be cancelled or delayed. Personally, I cannot get too much enthused about the way they handled your particular case. In fact I do not like it. For your information-take it for what its worth you were the greatest hitter of my time and thats not counting either of us out for sometime yet. Kindest Personal Regards, Sincerely Bob Feller." Letter content and signature both rate 9 out of 10 with only some typical horizontal mailing fold lines present. On January 9, 1952 Williams had been recalled to service from a list of inactive reserves to serve in the Korean War. The offered letter demonstrates the level of respect for Williams by arguably the greatest pitcher of his era, Bob Feller. Includes auction LOA from JSA: EX-MT
