Description: Archbishop Richard J. Cushing autographed photograph inscribed to Ted Williams. Matted and framed studio portrait of the notable Richard J. Cushing, who served as Archbishop of Boston from 1944-1970. Signed at the bottom margin, "To my good friend 'Ted'-The greatest of them all with affection, Richard J. Cushing Archbishop of Boston". Brown fountain pen signature and inscription rate 8 out of 10. Cushing was a highly regarded figure in the Boston community most notably with relation to the Kennedy family having overseen the wedding of Jackie and President John F. Kennedy, as well as presiding over the mass for the President's funeral in 1963 at St. Matthew's Cathedral in Washington, DC. The Archbishop was also a very big fan of the game of baseball, even drafting a prayer of a baseball theme which will be included with the lot, along with a newspaper photo of Williams and Cushing.
