Description: 1952 Ted Williams Boston Police Department Honorary Commissioner badge with related autographed personal check. Original shield shaped commemorative badge as presented to Williams as an honorary Police Commissioner for the city of Boston measuring 1 1/2" tall. Reverse is inscribed, "Ted Williams from Col. Thos. F. Sullivan April 30, 1952". The badge includes its original leather billfold, which exhibits age and handling wear. The lot is also accompanied by a Ted Williams autographed personal check made out to the Boston Police Alliance for a $100 donation in 1985. Boldly signed "Theodore Williams" at the bottom in black ink rating 9/10 out of 10. The lot is accompanied by a modern era 10"x13" black and white photo of Ted Williams posed at a mock Boston Police booking done for a comical publicity purpose.
