Description: Incredible .400 Hitters Club autographed baseball. Off white Harridge AL baseball which has been signed by six members of the elite group of players who hit for a .400 or better batting average. Signatures include Ty Cobb, Fred Clarke, Bill Terry, Rogers Hornsby, George Sisler, and Ted Williams. Signatures remain in very fine condition ranging from 8 to 10 out of 10. Ball itself presents handsomely with minimal age toning and no mentionable usage wear. The scarcity of this baseball simply cannot be overstated, evidenced by the fact that it is comprised of the complete roster of players who accomplished the feat in the 20th century with the exception of only Joe Jackson, Harry Heilmann, and Nap Lajoie. The ball was likely signed at an event held at Toots Shor's restaurant in New York City in 1958 at which the signers were in attendance. While the display qualities of the ball are very fine, it is equally impressive to contemplate the forethought that went into obtaining the player's signatures, and only their signatures, on such a ball. Themed signature baseballs from that era are virtually non existent with note to the exclusivity of this particular club. Superior rarity in nearly original as signed condition grade.
