Description: Lot of Ted Williams personal tennis related items to include: Charming handwritten letter written on March 15, 1974 on Sears Roebuck & Co. stationery as written to Ted's wife, Dolores. Includes comical content regarding his promise to pay her $10,000 if she ever beat him in 2 out of 3 rounds of tennis. Satirically signed, "Please bring knife when this happens. Ted Williams of sound mind". Letter has some fold lines with content and signature rating 9 out of 10: EX-MT; Pair of Adidas "Stan Smith" model tennis shoes worn by Ted Williams showing moderate to heavy usage. Shoes are accompanied by a vintage color photo of Williams wearing nearly identical shoes standing with Ken Rosewall: VG-EX; White Izod model tennis polo shirt showing light to moderate wear: EX; 1988 Ted Williams Baseball Hall of Fame Tennis Tournament "Winning Team" award bowl. Silverplated bowl inscribed on the front, retains its original Balfour lidded box with "Ted Williams" handwritten label on top. Includes color photo of Williams holding the offered bowl: NM; Small figural tennis trophy with white marble base (4" tall); (2) Ted Williams autographed personal checks as made out to "Tennis Shop" and "Tennis Island" respectively each signed "Theodore Williams" in blue ink: NM; Ted Williams autographed glass tennis ball paperweight by Tiffany & Co. Nicely signed across the front in black sharpie: NM; Pair of vintage tennis racket head vinyl covers each signed by Ted Williams in ink rating 3 and 6 out of 10, respectively: GD-VG; and a pair of vintage black and white 8"x10" photos picturing Williams in tennis scenes. Very fine grouping with excellent breakdown value. Includes auction LOA from JSA (autographs).
