Desirable 1948 First Edition copy of "The Babe Ruth Story" has been signed on the title page, "To a real good friend Joe Bihler from Babe Ruth, 4-13-48." Bihler was a noted business associate of Ruth having handled many of his affairs through the Christy Walsh Agency. Vintage blue fountain pen signature rates 8/9 out of 10. Book exhibits light exterior wear; dust jacket slightly more so with several areas of creasing and paper loss (has been professionally backed to heavier paper stock). Expected age toning throughout. Comes housed in custom gold lettered solander clamshell case, lined on the exterior with Yankee pinstripes and the team's "NY" logo. Very fine copy of this highly sought after signed edition.
