Fully executed contract on legal sized paper dated July 23, 1910 paying Brown $750 to appear in a series of (10) games "between picked players from the National and American Leagues." Signed in ink, "Mordecai Brown" rating 8/9 out of 10 with address noted below. Wear, creasing, and small tears are confined to edges with central portion generally remaining in well preserved EX-EX/MT condition. Typical fold lines from storage. The most important contract within the collection given Brown's stature and one which is historic in nature given the controversy surrounding player participation. The only Brown contract which we are aware of relating to and signed during his playing days. Includes letter of provenance and auction LOA from JSA: Technical GD/VG with note to edge wear, central portion displays EX-EX/MT, Sig. NMEstimated Price Range: ($2,000-$4,000)
