Description: 1910 Walter Johnson handwritten letter with fine content and related telegram. (2) Page handwritten letter to D.A. Fletcher on "The Southern" stationery dated September, 1910. Reads in part, "Although I wired you today I will drop you a line or two in regards to those five year contracts. If you will send me two calling for $7,500 per year I will sign them and send you one back and keep one for myself. Reach + Co. have the measurements for my uniform I am pretty sure...I will be ready to join your club just as soon as the season is over." Signed at the close, "Walter Johnson." Includes related telegram dated Sept. 23 displaying light consistent age toning and wear with folds from storage and chips at upper edge. Johnson was a mere (24) years old at the time and finishing up his third Major League season. He was already lauded by baseball players, insiders, and fans alike as one of the greatest players of his day. Very light consistent age toning and incidental edge wear to letter along with small pair of pinholes at top of each page. Signature/handwriting rates 9 out of 10. Includes letter of provenance and auction LOA from JSA: Letter EX/MT, Telegram VG/EX
