Description: Large vintage baseball bat trade display c.1890s. Substantive hand turned baseball bat believed to have functioned as an in store trade display measures a full 53.5" long. Handle end appears to have been fully painted black in the period with the entire bat developing a blackened surface over time. Original stained wood surface is visible in areas. Small hairline split in barrel mentioned for accuracy. Highly visual and unique period display piece: VG/EX-EX
