Description: 1942 Babe Ruth autographed letter. Touching correspondence dated April 16, 1942 on "Samuel Goldwyn" stationery from Ruth to an individual he had likely paid one of his famous hospital visits to many years prior. Ruth was writing in reply to good wishes sent his way when he was struggling with his own health related issues. Reads in part, "Fifteen years is a long time, but I remember my visit with you when you were in such bad condition...I am especially glad to know that you are able to play baseball. You telegram reached me at the hospital, and I greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness after all these years." Signed at the close "Babe Ruth" in period fountain pen rating 9 out of 10. Displays a hint of moderate even age toning with typical mailing folds and other incidental wear. Includes original mailing envelope and full LOA from JSA: Sig.
